It was a very windy and stormy day when I made this photograph at Sandymouth in North Cornwall. It was the long sinuous curve of the outflow that drew my eye. Simple graphic compositions like this often work very well in black and white. In addition, monochrome really brings out the luminous silvery tones of the sky and water. The gritty tones and textures of sand and rock provide a nice counterpoint.
